Our Purpose

The Alliance is a group of Alameda County nonprofit providers of housing and homeless services, supporting the needs of the county's most vulnerable residents — those who are homeless, formerly homeless, and at risk of homelessness.

Our purpose is to provide leadership that elevates the voice, power, and collective expertise of community-based nonprofits to county funding agencies and city and county elected leaders, contributing to improved outcomes for people struggling to secure and maintain high-quality affordable housing.

Alliance members share solutions, provide consultation and resources through partnerships and work groups, and proactively support our government leaders in strengthening the system of care.

We Strive to Ensure

  • The system of care provides quality equity-centered services to unsheltered, sheltered, precariously housed, and newly housed individuals and families.
  • The system of care, and all its programs, are adequately funded to support quality services, shelter, and housing.
  • The system of care adheres to contracting practices that promote healthy nonprofits and a healthy workforce.
